| The hills of Warburton This is a view of the hills of Warburton in the Upper Yarra Ranges. The day was freezing and wet. In fact it was the wettest day in Victoria in many years. There are floods and it is the beginning of what is one of the wettest weeks ever but the hills are alive and the ground smells sweet. There is a mist of clouds hanging low on the top of Mount Donna Buang. This photo just doesn't do the beauty of this area any justice, but I forgot to take my camera and had to use my phone instead. I promise some better shots on my next visit. Better still, consider checking the area out for yourself, it is a hidden treasure here in Victoria. My mum grew up in this part of the world. My grandfather earned his living as a photographer in the late 40's and 50's. He used to take photo's of the holiday makers who stayed in the guest houses and visited the mountain top. Many of my childhood school holidays were spent in Wesburn a small town just before you get to Warburton. These are some of the happiest memories of my life. In winter there is great sight seeing snow and toboggan runs and it is so close to Melbourne. We take the kids to the snow for the day each year because you don't have to have the whole snow kit and kaboodle to go there (No chains required) RED MUD HUT The reason that Warburton has come to be discussed on this page is the RED MUD HUT. I have had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of Joanna, owner of the RED MUD HUT, which is situated at the far end of the main street in Warburton. Her shop is just lovely and full to the brim of beautiful fashion, bags, hats, giftware, jewellery and toys. Now EXCITINGLY (jump up and down) DaVia Designs handbags too. Joanna is a friendly, welcoming and chatty person with a great eye for quality and a unique fashion sense. I couldn't help myself and picked out a couple of soft and comfortable items of clothing suitable for travel and post suitcase wearing (no iron necessary) for my trip OS next week. I feel a million dollars in these, quite sexy (a nice change) actually. This week I start to pack for my trip. It is the first time I have been overseas as an adult and I am so excited I am practically jumping out of my skin. Davia |

Life is sounding pretty good for you at the moment Davia! Hopeful I'll see you before you jet off.
ReplyDeleteYeah... Life is great. Nothing to complain about here. I have this feeling of being totally alive, happy and excited about life which is rather amazing because that is not always the way life goes. Looking forward to catching up during next week.
