Today I remembered that it is important to do what you love.
Isn't that what life is about?
Doing what you love and being with who you love.
My eldest daughter is overseas and I am missing her terribly. I think about what she might be up to constantly and hope that she is safe and having a great time.
Today I was feeling a little maudlin ( missing Lou Lou) and considering yet again the direction of this business I have chosen to run instead of working for someone else. I had to take some time out to remind myself that I am doing this because I LOVE IT. That's right, I forgot, caught up in doing all the things that "HAVE TO BE DONE" and losing sight of the things I really love.
So with complete integrity and a plan for when those things will get done, I put them aside, and I did this instead.

Davia it is absolutely beautiful. Imagine doing all that other stuff at the expense of never having created this artwork. There was a similar conversation in our household very late last night - what has to be done, what we want to do and how on earth are we going to find the time to do it??? I know our household could be happier. There's work, stress, pressure. Can't wait for summer - a time to reassess and recharge and hopefully set the tone for the year to come. And your baby will be home in no time.

ReplyDeleteThanks Tas and Squirt Baby, it always makes me happy when people like the things I share with them, it makes it worth doing. Finding balance is our great challenge in life these days I think. How do we have meaningful relationships with both people, our work and ourselves?
