Welcome to A Big Cats Life

A blog about Life, Love, Art and the Pursuit of Happiness

Lost and lonely

Giving up the Guilt and Getting Back on Track.

The holidays are almost over and the kids will be heading back to school. I am feeling  a tad guilty because I haven't done many of the things on my long list, things that I said I would do over this 6 week period.

This is not NEW! However I forget every year just how hard it is to actually work with 3 kids hanging around. They eat 6 times as much food, make 10 times as much mess and require driving here there and everywhere. The brain just isn't in the right space for creating magnificent wondrous art, business entrepreneurship and planning world domination etc. etc.

So the blog hasn't been happening and I have taken my eye off the ball. However only my own ball, I have still been watching everyone else's. LIVING VICARIOUSLY!

KOOoooooWE,  IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE.........?"
I noticed a similar absence in the blogesphere of fellow blogger and friend of mine Trailing Grace. I missed her posts, they always give me something to think about. So I sent her a message on FB. Being a great friend is noticing the little things (I try my best). And it is very easy to feel that you are typing away and nobody is listening and it is fantastic to know some one IS OUT THERE who misses you.

Grace is an amazing forthright person who doesn't mind a bit of self reflection and sometimes it helps others along the way. Me included.

Check out her response to my queries below.

Thanks Grace, you should never again feel insignificant or alone, because you never know who is watching and waiting for the scent of Trailing Grace.

  1. Yes, we're listening... just pretty slack at commenting. My new year's resolution!

  3. Maybe you need to think of that list as a "wishlist" - so if a few things drop off it there's not too much guilt associated. I feel as though we're just getting into the swing of it now. I could handle another week before launching back into the whole school routine thing. I've actually been working on a few things just for the fun of it, rather than for "work" - and it feels fantastic! Looking forward to seeing what your creative juices will be producing this year!

  4. Thanks Squirt baby. Great suggestion of the "wishlist" I will do that. And yes as soon as I get some air space free in the house and studio I am going to begin a fresh year with creative STUFF and fun stuff! I have heaps of ideas but I hate being interupted to get other people food etc. Can't wait to see what fun things you have been doing.
